Davis & Hill ship bells are hand made utilising traditional sand cast methods. Made from solid brass the bell is machined smooth on the outside, hand polished to an immaculate finish and lacquered to give a longer lasting sheen. The bell is fitted with a solid brass bracket and clapper. A rope lanyard is attached to the clapper using a brass ‘D’-shackle, for the purpose of ringing the bell.
Not only supplied to ships chandlers to adorn yachts and cruisers, but also used on ceremonial occasions as a "watch bell" on HMS Naval Ships, or in civic buildings. In addition, Davis & Hill Ships Bells can be found hanging in pubs, restaurants, sporting clubs or at home where its fine clear ringing tone can be used as a gong to gather attention, sound an alarm, warning or last orders.
